REGAP Refinery

Supervision and Control System at REGAP

Altus was responsible for the development and implementation of the Supervision and Control System at the Gabriel Passos Refinery (REGAP), part of Petrobras.

Optimization of the control and supervision system

The Supervision and Control System provided by Altus at the Gabriel Passos Refinery, located in Betim, MG, oversees a range of operations, including the measurement station (Emed), the LPG measurement station, the spent caustic oxidation unit, the pressure relief system, oily wastewater, the water-oil separator, and aqueous waste treatment.

Through various communication interfaces developed by Altus, the system integrates seamlessly with other refinery systems, such as the process DCS, product tank level and temperature meters, and more

Redes de comunicação utilizadas no projeto

Communication Networks Used in the Project

The ALNET II process network, built with fiber optics, is deterministic and multi-master, operating at 1 Mbps. It connects the main Programmable Controller in the Final Area Control Room with the remote Programmable Controllers in the Control Rooms of Unit 37 and Emed. The ALNET I network links the two Supervision Stations to the main Programmable Controller.

One station connects directly via a conventional serial channel, while the other uses the AL-2005 coprocessor, allowing both stations to access the same system database.

The MODBUS network connects the main Programmable Controller to the DCS via the AL-2005 coprocessor.

Interfaces with intelligent transmitters are also established using the AL-2005 coprocessor in the Altus Programmable Controller.
