Airport Modernization

Automation of Airport Control Systems

Altus technology was utilized to modernize the SAPIOS (Building Automation and Security Operations System) at Salgado Filho Airport, seamlessly integrating all terminal systems.

Integrated Control System for Salgado Filho Airport

SAPIOS connects the Flight Information System (SIV) with the Utility and Energy Management System (SIGUE) through a relational database. This integration enables automatic control of lighting and air conditioning in rooms reserved for specific flights, creating a comfortable environment for passengers while optimizing energy use.

A key feature is the real-time information provided by SIGUE to SIV, particularly about resources under maintenance, such as boarding bridges, preventing them from being allocated to flights.

Complete integration between Altus solutions and other systems

Altus’s solution includes a broad range of essential equipment and services for automating and controlling airport systems. The solution uses programmable controllers developed and manufactured by the company. These controllers are key to integrating various systems, such as SAPIOS, SIGUE, and SISA. Additionally, the architecture designed by Altus’s engineering team ensures smooth integration with third-party systems to meet the client’s specific requirements.

The solution also includes the assembly and installation of electrical panels, as well as field installation and electrical project execution. To ensure quality and proper functionality, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) were conducted prior to on-site implementation.

After installation, Altus oversees the system start-up and provides comprehensive training to INFRAERO’s technical team, covering topics such as driver programming, communication networks, supervisory configuration, and operational and maintenance procedures.
